Monday December 14 1908 It was a fine day I baked and did some scrubbing before dinner and in the afternoon swept up stairs and did extra cleaning. Will busy about the place. I read in evening. Tuesday December 15 1908 I ironed this morning and baked cookies. Will went up to [McGivens?] for a bushel of apples. I got a little time in the afternoon to do fancy work. I wrote to Alma in the evening. The Jones moved in their new house today. Wednesday December 16 1908 I did the regular work and baked a cake to take to the church. I went down town at 2.12 to do some shopping I was up in Otts office a few moments. I got up to the church about four oclock I had a very nice time. Mrs Bales got my pillow cases they said. I bought a little foot stool. I came home at 7.30 Will met me. Thursday December 17 1908 I was busy with the work all forenoon and went down home at 12.12. We had such a nice visit and were all busy with Christmas work. It was dark and [misting?] rain. I came home at 4.37. When we were jist finishing supper Mrs Hoffman called me and told us that Mrs [Davis?] had been found dead sitting in her chair. I made tatting all evening.
