Wednesday March 24 1909 I did the regular house-work and worked on my pillow cases. It was 40 years today since John first came to Iowa City and Hattie gave a family dinner part at "The [Borchle?]" to surprise him. Fannie was not able to be there. We had a very nice time. This would have been Fathers 93rd birthday had he lived. weather cool. Thursday March 25 1909 I was busy with the work and got dinner so I went down at 12.12 I stopped at Otts awhile. Fannie ate some dinner with the family. I left there about 2 oclock went up home and stayed with Mother till time to come home at 4.39. read all the evening. Friday March 26 1909 I did a big forenoons work, sweeping, baking and getting dinner. I rested in afternoon Will went to town. Saturday March 27 1909 We left for town on the 9.12 car. Will got a team and Cora Corine Anderson and we went down to John McCallisters to dinner where we met some of the valley folks. We had a fine day and got back to the city to come home at 5.30. I read most of the evening. Weather fine. Ott started to South Dakota at 9.30 tonight on business
