Saturday July 2nd 1904 I did a lot of sweeping and cleaning up this forenoon and got the dinner. Will went to town in the afternoon and I went as far as home. The Williams girls came from Des Moines while I was there. Mr Whitson went home this afternoon for a couple of days. worked with my chickens till late. Virgel went to town in the afternoon. Sunday July 3rd 1904 I was busy all forenoon. I read and wrote in the afternoon. There was a nice rain just before night. It was a warm day. I talked with the folks by telephone. The Williams girls went away today. Monday July 4th 1904 Virgel went away for the day and Will helped me do a big washing. After dinner we went away. I stopped at home for a visit and he went on to the races. We came home to do chores and went back to Otts to supper and to see the fireworks he had. It has been a fine day and I have enjoyed it so much.
