Tuesday July 5th 1904 I was busy most of the forenoon with the dinner. I worked some in the garden. Mr Whitson came back before dinner. I was busy all afternoon. I hear the Stevens girls started to St Louis tonight. I had pictures of May and her family who live in Kansas. Wednesday July 6th 1904 I ironed this forenoon. It rained a great part of the day. Will did not feel well and did not get up till noon. I did the mending in afternoon. Of course my chickes were lots of care. Thursday July 7th 1904 I was busy with the work all forenoon. Will went to town for shingles for the hay barn. Bob Fachler began taking the roof of. I worked all the afternoon in the old straw-berry bed and finished it. I have gone over all of it with a knife and taken out the old roots and loosened the dirt. Mr Whitson left before dinner. a letter from Ida today. Friday July 8th 1904 I was busy all forenoon with the regular work and the care of the chickens. I went down home awhile and over to town to get some things. It looked like rain but passed around.
