Friday August 5th 1904 I went down town early this morning was at Fannies a few moments. I got home by eleven got dinner for us and spent the afternoon up to Mrs Dennis. very dusty. Saturday August 6th 1904 I was busy all forenoon sweeping up the house and getting dinner. I went down to Fannies to a party in the afternoon. Will was in town he stopped at Marys for supper. We talked on the porch till bed time. weather cool. Sunday August 7th 1904 I was sick last night and did not get up early. Will went to the pasture. I did what little work I was obliged to. slept most of the afternoon, read and wrote some. Monday August 8th 1904 I did not feel very well most of the forenoon. Walter came to work but was away helping thresh. Mr Rieland brought me black hens at noon. I prepared apples and let the juice drain in afternoon and at supper time I [scalded?] the black berries. I felt better in afternoon and sewed a little. I had a letter from Joe Woolf today. She says Aunt Catherine Ware of Piketon is dead. She heard it from [St Louis?]
