very much cooler. We worked and visited all afternoon. Will is getting ready to thresh. We read awhile in the evening and went to bed early. Thursday September 15th 1904 We girls ironed, baked bread and cake and I made custard and dressed chicken for tomorrow all before dinner. In the afternoon we went down town for meat and borrowed some dishes at home. Mother & Hattie were down town. Got home to do the evening work. we had such a pleasant ride about town. a fine day. It was 20 years tonight at nine oclock that Rob died. Friday September 16th 1904 We were up early this morning. I had four men who were with the machine for breakfast. With Lydia's help I had a nice dinner ready for the men on time. They finished about four oclock. It was Mr. Baldwins last job for the year. I got the dishes all cleared and the house swept up while Lydia visited and then we washed them. I laid down awhile then put them all away and got some supper. I was very tired. I did not feel well to start with. There was 850 bushels of good oats. We are so glad it is done. It was a fine day for the work.
