41st Thursday April 9th 1874 Mother and Lee went to the valley today. The boys all started to school and that left Winnie and I here all alone. I cut out three shirts for Otto this morning and sewed all the time I had to spare during the day and till quite late in the evening. Friday April 10th 1874. I sewed in the forenoon, finished Otto's shirts. After dinner I did some little washing. Mother went over to Fletchers visiting and Father went over to supper. They did not get home till after nine oclock. Owen and the little boys went up the river fishing and Rob went to society so that left Winnie and I here alone. I cut carpet rags all the evening. Had a letter from Charlie today. Saturday April 11th 1874. I helped about the house-work this morning and did some ironing. Mother went to town in the forenoon. I had the dinner ready when she came home. In the afternoon did some baking and sewed a little, played whist in the evening
