Saturday August 12th 1905 Billy went to thresh. I went down home on the 9:30 car. Will came at noon for his dinner. Hattie and Alma Parvin had gone down to Stevens as they were threshing. It looked so much like rain that Will and I came home early. Did evening work, sat on the porch in evening. Sunday August 13th 1905 I was busy most of the forenoon with the work. There was a slight shower. I read some before noon. In afternoon I wrote a long letter to Lydia and to Alice Condon. We talked on porch all evening. went to bed early. Monday August 14th 1905 Will spent all day in town with Mr James Anderson from St Louis who was looking for horses for Mort Allen. I did the work and sewed all afternoon. Tuesday August 15th 1905 There was a hard shower last night. I got ready by ten oclock and went up to Youngs to The Elder Daughter party. I came back at 12:30. Will met me at the station and went down town. I reached Minnie Showers in time for a one oclock dinner with all the girls. We spent a most delightful afternoon. Will and I came home together at 5:30. After supper I called down at Chambers. Mrs Chambers died at Mercy Hospital last night.
