Thursday September 28th 1905
It looked like rain this morning. The girls were
busy with their work and I wrote some letters. We spent
the afternoon at home. Aunty was here. Alice and I went
over to Emmas and ate our suppers there. We afterwards
called on Mrs Benecke a cousin of Mrs Swishers. This is
my last night here. A letter from Mrs Clute. I stop at St Louis.
Friday September 29th 1905
I was not away from the house in the forenoon. It rained
a little. Soon after dinner Bertha and I took my [telescope?]
down & got it check and my ticket stamped. I felt very tired
and rested till supper time. Emma brought my waist
that had been in her washing. Paul went to the depot with
me. Charlie & family, Aunt Lydia, Clara & May were all there.
I left for St Louis at 9:10. a nice evening to travel.
I did not have a hard trip. Got to St Louis about eight
oclock. Kathie Clute met me and we went out to their
home. I spent a very pleasant time there till one
oclock, we came back down to the depot. I left at two
and arrived in Delavan at 7:30. Jim met me and
the evening was spent pleasantly at the Mason home.
It has been a fine trip. I feel I am nearly home
again. A letter from Will was waiting me here.
