Thursday February 1st 1906 It was cold this morning but I gave the sitting and dining rooms a good sweeping and cleaning. I made soup for lunch. I wrote a letter to Belle Corwine in the afternoon. Friday February 2nd 1906 It was a cloudy but not a very cold day. I swept up stairs in the forenoon. I got the most of the work done by noon. Will churned for me. Robert McCallister came out for the butter. I read all the evening. Will about home all day. Finished work for Ed Koser on ice due .525 to be applied to ice bill in 1906 Saturday February 3rd 1906 It was very cold early this morning. Will went to town on the 9.30 car. I did the regular work and baked a cake to take down home. I went at 12.30 as it was warmed by that time. Saw Hattie a few moments. I thing she still improving. I had a plain talk with John when I went back to town about Dr Hobbys methods of treatment. I was at Otts a little while to see Mr & Mrs Bremner. I came home with Will at four oclock. read all the evening. Sunday February 4th 1906 It has turned very cold again. I am so glad I went down home yesterday. Ott & Fanniue did to go to Cedar Rapids to attend the funeral of Mrs Frank Gates who died in Chicago. She lived near them some time ago. I put in all my spare time reading. went to bed early.
