Monday July 2nd 1906 I washed in the forenoon and in the afternoon baked cake and picked our carrots. Mr McGinnis brought me raspberries this forenoon. I was very tired and went to bed early. Tuesday July 3rd 1906 I had churning, ironing this forenoon. Had dinner when the girls came from school. I baked cookies and made raspberry jam. I worked all day. The girls went to the valley today. Wednesday July 4th 1906 I was busy all forenoon I made jelly and put away a sack of sugar. Got dinner for Will and I slept after noon till nearly three. I then went down home for supper. A telegram from Lor Duncan said she would be here from the west at 9:45. I came home before the fire works. Will went to the depot. They got here all right. Thursday July 5th 1906 I was busy most of the day with the work. The cooking takes so much time. The girls came at noon. They had a good time in the valley. They went down town in the evening. Will finished plowing corn today. weather cool and pleasant. Hattie to Burlington for a visit.
