Friday August 10th 1906 I did a big washing with some help from Will. I went down home at 2.30. Aunt Ellen and girls were there. Alma Parvin came at 4.30. I staid till after supper. Word came today that Mr Catler was better but a telegram a [at] 8.30 said he died at six oclock. I came home at 8.05. Will met me. Saturday August 11th 1906 I ironed in forenoon and I worked all afternoon at sweeping and cleaning. Will down town. Hattie started to Carthage. But will stay over Sunday with Birdie Harris. I was tired and went to bed early. Sunday August 12th 1906 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. Read a little. I went down to Woolfs for apples and on over home awhile. Arth Folsom rode home with me. I was just ready to go to church in the evening when John Stevens family came out. Monday August 13th 1906 I had a big washing today and did most of it alone. Will is busy making arrangements to thresh. I did some mending in afternoon. A letter from Hattie today says she could not reach Carthage in time for Mr Catlers funeral yesterday but goes today.
