Tuesday August 14th 1906 I ironed this forenoon and baked bread. I baked cake and prepared some other things for the threshers in afternoon. Will went to town after supper for meat. Wednesday August 15th 1906 I roasted the meat, baked pies, and got corn and potatoes ready to cook. Alma came out at 10.15. We set the tables after dinner and rested a little before time to get supper. They came to thresh at 2 oclock and by six had threshed 900 bushels of oats and were ready for supper. Alma helped me do the dishes and went home at 8.30. I am glad it is done. Thursday August 16th 1906 Will went to help Kyles thresh. I put the house to rights and ate dinner early. I went down on the 1.30 car and called at Nell Swishers. Hattie met me there and we went together to Sophia Moore Ebys funeral. She and her Mother had started to visit Isa Terry. She was taken suddenly sick and died in a few days. It was very sudden strange and sad.Hattie returned from Carthage and Burlington at noon. I came home at 5.05. It has been a very warm day. I sat on the porch and talked with Will all the evening.
