Wednesday October 3rd 1906 I churned and ironed both before noon. Got the dinner over. went to town at 2.30 and back on same car. I mended the clothes and did a lot of work after supper. Thursday October 4th 1906 I was all the forenoon getting dinner. I roasted chicken and baked bread. I sewed a little in afternoon. Will finished the grass seed today. Tom digging potatoes. Friday October 5th 1906 Will went to Cedar Rapids to the carnival today. I did the regular work, got dinner early, and went to town in the buggy. I came back over home where I met a great many ladies of the Presbyterian society. I came home early. Will came at 5.30. I read in evening. Saturday October 6th 1906 I had churning this morning and the boys put up the stove in sitting room and I blacked it. I went to town at 2.30, was at Eugene Harts to see Henry, met him up town. I saw Aunt Emma at the M. E. rummage sale. I came home in the buggy with Will. Busy all evening. Sunday October 7th 1906 I was busy till nearly noon. We went down home for dinner. Eugene, Emma, Henry and Otts family were there. A nice visit. We came around the Block road home. One of prof Smiths twin baby girls died at 5 oclock. I wrote most of the evening.
