Friday July 10th 1903 I was busy all forenoon with bread baking and other work. I tried to sew in afternoon but it was so hot and we had a terrible rain about four oclock. It had rained last night. I had a time to dry and warm my little chicks Will brought in wet. A letter to Lydia. Saturday July 11th 1903. I sewed some in the forenoon, did regular work, and got dinner. Will went to town after dinner. I gave the house a good sweeping. We worked in the garden after supper. Weather some cooler. Sunday July 12th 1903 I did not feel very well so poked about the work all forenoon. Will went to the pasture. I read and wrote in afternoon. I have 45 young chickens to care for. Monday July 13th 1903 I had Warren Smith to help me work and churn in the forenoon. I ironed after dinner and cared for my little chickens. They finished plowing corn and Will cut hay at Earnest Danners.
