Sunday August 27th 1899 I was obliged to do a little extra work in the kitchen in the forenoon. I read in the afternoon and got Wills things together to take with him tomorrow. Monday August 28th 1899 I took Will up town early this morning and was over the river a little while. I got home at noon fixed Luther and I a little dinner and we did a big washing in the afternoon. I was busy till bed-time John Stevens came down to stay all night. Weather very warm. Tuesday August 29th 1899 I did a big ironing before noon. Luther went up to Uncle Jims of an errand. I dried corn in the afternoon and put up tomatoes. Emma stayed all night. Wednesday August 30th 1899 I had churning to do and was busy with the work I got dinner early. I went to Hill Siding got a letter from Will. I drove up to Aunt Libs to see The girl who were down from home. John came down tonight. wrote letters in the evening. Thursday August 31st 1899 I worked all day long and it was very hot. I dried more corn, baked bread put up tomatoes and made apple butter. John down to stay tonight We heard this evening they have a boy baby down at John McCallisters
