Monday May 7th 1900 I was busy with the regular work most of the day. I was working with the chickens some. The boys are getting the ground east of the road ready to plant This is Wills birth-day. It rained this evening Tuesday May 8th 1900 Will took a load of hogs to town for Dick Reed Leonard helped me wash and churned for me. I was busy with the work most of the afternoon. Wednesday May 9th 1900 I ironed this morning and did other work. Weather pleasant. Will began planting corn today. This is Hatties birth-day. Thursday May 10th 1900 I had churning to do again today and got the butter already to go to town tomorrow. I did a little sewing and got things in shape to go to town tomorrow. Friday May 11th 1900 I got started to town early and delivered the butter got what things I needed, was over home a few moments and got home to have dinner ready by noon I was nearly all afternoon getting around with the work. There was an ugly hot wind in afternoon.
