Tuesday August 21st 1900  Leonard went up to the place and we went up in the buggy. Will took dinner at Woolfs and was up to see how Leonard was getting along He heard that Allie Stempf of St Louis died Sunday night. The folks are already to start to Colorado tonight. Lee keeps up wonderfully. Wednesday August 22nd 1900 I had a hard days work with drying corn and ironing. The milk was extra care today as the water all had to come out for a can leaking milk. Mr & Mrs O. Mara were down late in the afternoon looking at the place with the view of renting it. More rain tonight. Thursday August 23rd 1900 I was hard at work all day with getting the butter ready doing baking and cleaning up the house some. I was very tired. A hard storm tonight. Friday August 24th 1900 Will took the butter up this morning. I was busy about the work most of the forenoon. In the afternoon did some writing. We got paper with the particulars of Allie Stempfs death. A card from the folks say they are starting the trip all right
