Wednesday September 28th 1898 I was busy with the work most of the forenoon. Father and Mother were down for dinner and Nelsons were here in the afternoon. It was very warm. I picked a lot of tomatoes for Mother. The boys sorted out the hogs and got them ready. Thursday September 29th 1898 The men came early to deliver the hogs. There was 16 loads of them. Will and I went to town in the afternoon and he got the money in the bank. $863.24. We did not go mover the river. Pink came back this morning. Friday September 30th 1898 We wee busy with the work all morning. Will went to town and took up the butter and got meat. The men finished threshing at Johns and got here about two oclock and were through our in the [bottom?] at half past five. We had eighteen men here for supper. Sunday September 25th 1898 {belongs on previous page but Iowa didn't put it there} I was busy about the work all morning. The boys drove the colt. I read and wrote some in the afternoon. Did the evening work and went to bed early. Saturday October 1st 1898 We were up early this morning and busy all morning with baking and cooking. We had dinner soon after eleven for the thresher and they moved the machine down to thresh our grain down at Eds. They were all done by three oclock. Pink and I did up all the work put things all to rights and got our suppers by five oclock. There was 1,990 bushels of oats. Levi went to town to stay all night.
