Sunday June 28th 1896 The work kept me busy most of the forenoon. After an early dinner rode over to Halsons to see about berries. Stopped at home a little while. After I got the supper over. Elmer & Ida Anderson came to spend the evening. Monday June 29th 1896 I had churning to do and was buys a great part of the forenoon with the dinner. I went after the berries and in town I met Uncle Jim Mc-- {McCallister} and he told me that Uncle Jim Stevens died this morning and Uncle Jacob yesterday. I stopped at Fannys a little while. I got home as early as I could to put up the berries while getting supper. Tuesday June 30th 1896 As soon as I could get the work down Will and I drove down to Stevens. The family feel the loss very much. I got the dinner as soon as I came home and in the afternoon fixed my black silk waist. Wednesday July 1st 1896 I was busy nearly all the forenoon with the work as I had an early dinner. Uncle Jims funeral was at one oclock. There was a large attendance. The pall bearers were the two Anderson boys, John & Ed McCallister & Ott & Lee. Our folks were all down but Fanny. We got home before it was late to do the work. I went to bed early with the head ache.
