Friday October 16th 1896 Soon after breakfast I went over to the depot and took the train for Lincoln. Seth met me at the depot with the horse and buggy and we had a pleasant ride out. I was made very welcome and soon after dinner his Mother went with us and we rode all over Lincoln before I took the train for Delavan. Vene was at the depot with Miss Mathews and we all went up to Newt Alexanders to call. I stopped at Joe Woolfs and stayed till after supper. She went down to Venes with me and Andrew called for me. So ends the last day of one of the best visits I ever made in Delavan. Saturday October 17th 1896 It was just time for me to go to the rain when we were through breakfast. I hurried my thing together and Jim and Vene went with me to the depot. I got through the wait in Peoria very well and made close connections to Roseville. Mrs Talbott and Nellie were at the depot. Ida had not got home. I spent a pleasant evening with the family. It was a year ago today since Charlie died and we were called home. Sunday October 18th 1896 I spent the time most pleasantly though quietly with Ida's folks. At four oclock I started to Burlington. I had a two hour wait in Monmouth. Bird met me at the depot and I had supper after we got to the house. We talked till early bed-time. I felt tired and went to bed.
