66th got the room all fixed Mr Ogden was here and finished his work We partly papered the little room of the kitchen had a note from Mr Huebner this noon late in the afternoon I went to town got me a new parasol a buff lined with green cost $2.00 I was up home with Mr Huebner a few moments did not get home till night. Thursday, May 30th 1872 Took things quite leisurely this forenoon got the dinner about half past eleven and Mother went to town right away. about half past one Mr Huebner came for me. We started got on swimmingly till we got out of the lot when the horse balked and just such another time I never heard of finally he had to take the horse back to the stable and get another which did not take very long We rode all around town and then went away out north had such a long pleasant ride Had a letter from Bertie she says Pete is still in Newark. I answered her letter tonight So ends decoration day there was a great many people in town.
