192nd Monday August 18th Mother and Lee went to the valley and Hatt and I sewed all day. They got a great lot of green, sweet corn and that had to be husked and boiled. It was late before we got through with it. Tuesday August 19th 1873 We were till noon cutting of the corn ready for drying. Aunty and Uncle Walker were here for dinner. In the afternoon I wrote Lou Sherfey a long letter and sewed a letter, I had a letter from Mr Huebner. The weather intensely warm. Wednesday August 20th 1873 I sewed in the forenoon. After dinner I wrote a letter to Mr Huebner. Still very warm and dusty. A year ago today started to Uncle Jacobs in company with Mort Briggs and wife. Thursday August 21st 1873 Hattie and I started very early this morning taking the clothes with us to go to Grand-ma's to do the washing. I got it all done by noon and sewed carpet rags all the afternoon. Hattie did not come home with me. It was quite dark when I got home. Dr Vogt died this evening at six oclock.
