that they do not place all Religion in Fasting and outward Mortification for tho these things be very usefull & necessary in their place if they be discreetly managed & made subservient to ye great ends of Religion; yet it is often seen that men have so unequal or respect so ye several parts of this duty; that fasting Corporal severity; those meager & lean duties of piety; in comparison; do like Pharoah's lean [kine?] devour & eat up almost all ye [goadly?] & well=flavoured, ye great & substantial duties of ye Christian Life; and therefore men must take great heed, lest whilst they are so intent upon mortifying themselves, they do not mortifie virtue & good Nature, Humility and meekness and Charity; things highly valuable in themselves & amiable in ye eyes of men; & in ye sight of god of great price for ye neglect of ye moral Duties of ye Second table is not only
