Before Vicksburgh June, FRIDAY, 12, 1863. Our Brigade moved into the place ocupied by the 2 Brigade & they Releived us at the Breast Works Where We have been under fire for 20 days Brown, P R. Woods & Wallace taken to Hospital sick SATURDAY, 13 George Moore of the 21" Iowa C H staid with me last night. Read McLahans Spy, and Commenced Reading the Heroines of the Crusades Details made to build Magizines, more Amunition &c &c. SUNDAY, 14. I wrote a letter to Jane. I Recd. a letter from Jane, & one from David & Mother Jane & the Children have been sick. The Children with measels up twice in the night making Details for fatigue in trenches
