West Phalia MO Nov 8th 1864 Tuesday Our division marched this morning from Jefferson City under command of Bragadier Gen McArthur, a Scotchman who came out as Col of the 12th Ill. in 1861. Marched to the Osage River + forded the ice cold stream. Voted for President 191 for Lincoln 21 for McClellan and con tinued the march to West Pheilie and went into Camp in a hard storm of Rain 20 miles from Jefferson City
