16 Benton Barracks Mo Nov 23d 1864 Monday I wrote a letter to Mr & Mrs Kerrs Family. Our Baggage was taken down and put on the Boat Silver Spray this morning and the entire Division moved at 2 p.m. and moved to Levee & embarked on Transports. the 12th Iowa and 7th Minnesota are on the Silver Cloud together. As Gen McAurther wears the Scoth Cap, quite a fever for such Caps as taken His Division so much so the Demand exceeds the Supply in the City.
