17 Steamer Silver Cloud Nov 24th. 1864 Thursday The 27th. Iowa Regt Came down & embarked on Steamer Silver Spray. I did not find James Henderson as He was on duty at Camp. He is well however. Saw J. Noble. & Bishop of Portville. The Christian Commission of St. Louis advertised to give a Dinner to the Soldiers our part of said Dinner was sent on board Boat & consisted in a big nothing a good talk about a little Thing. Left St. Louis at 2 P.M. for Cairo
