23 Transport Silver Cloud Cumberland River Nov 30"/ 64 Wensday Tied up for a short time at Fort Donelson, last night Did not see the scene of our first Conflict, & Victory as night & darkness enveloped the Earth, Passed the Town of Clarksville on the Left Bank of Stream at 11 oclock A.M. a fine place in former times, Bussey making Rolls for the muster out of non-Veterans. Mr Hutchins is fixing pockets in my Pants Watch & pen Pockets &c &c Warm Weather again
