24 Nashville Tenn Dec. 1st. 1864 Thursday Arrived at Nashville late last night. Disembarked this morning and marched 2 miles to our Position on the line arround the City. Nearly all the officers in Regt took advantage of a late order of war Dept Requiring them either to Remuster, or muster out. They took the later Course which is Both mean & Cowardly as we are expecting a great Battle, and they stand pledged as Veterans Captain G.W. Cook of C, Morse of F, Sumbardo of J, Soper of D, & Lieuts. Small, Thorson Shoemaker, & others
