25 In line of Battle Nashville Tenn. Dec. 2d. 1864 Friday The now Veterans of 12" Iowa were mustered out to day. & the following officers Disgracefully mustered out, Captains Hunter of A, Capt G.W. Cook of C, Capt Morse of F, Capt Soper of D, Capt Sumbardo of J, Lieuts Thorson G, Small F, Shomaker E, [Haigh?] A, Mariam [V?], Ellsworth A, Wade J. all those stand pleged to their Cos. as veterans & now they abandon their post on the first Chance & on the eve of a battle. I wrote to Jane, to day, & expressed some Clothes for Mr Jordan 1 S Coat, 1 Coat, 1 Blouse & 1 Shirt, to Iowa (Vertically, at left:-) Sent Wm Jordas Photograph Home to day
