26 In Line of Battle Nashville Tenn Dec. 3d. 1864 Saturday The Enemy is moving in Heavy Columns in our Front. But as yet makes no advance in force, Continual Skirmishing on the Several Pike Roads leaving the City. They have tried to Cross the Cumberland twice But failed so far. Our Brigade advanced to a new position and threw up Earth works in expectation of an attack, But all is quiet to night. Recd two letters from Jane Dated July 27th. + Nov 18th.
