35 Defences of Nashville Tenn. Dec 12th. 1864 Monday The Pickets of the Enemy are Close in our Front, the main Body of the Rebel Army have fallen back 2 or 3 miles to find better quarters during the Present severe weather. I wrote a letter to Mrs Henderson to day sending a Photograph of [J. T.?] Matlock. John Sprouls Reported to Co from U.S. Hospital at [left blank in original]. Five men on Picket from Company every day.
