42 Franklin Tennessee Dec 18th. 1864 Sunday Marched at 9 A.M. this morning for Franklin where we Camped for the night. Several more pieces of Artilery was taken from Hood near this place & 1000 more prisoners by our Cavalry under Gen Hatch who is Continualy Harrassing the Enemys Rear. The Rebels are Retreating in in Haste & some Confusion. It Has rained now for two days more or less steadily (Vertically, at left:-) Wrote a letter to Jane. wrote to Mrs Connor informing Her of Her Husbands wounds
