46 Carters Creek Tennessee Dec 22d.1864 Thursday The Rebel Rear Guard was driven from Columbia this morning & the Pontoons are being laid. Our Div moved forward this evening and Camped on the North bank of Duck River near the Bridge the 4th. Corps are Crossing also the Cavilry, & the pursuit will be continued Tomorrow as the long cold Rains have stoped for the present & it is now [freezing?] Hard & the Roads are passable.
