62 In the Field near Pullaski Tenn Dec 28th.1864 Wensday Mailed to Mrs Henderson our Chaplins Report of the Nashville Battles. Mailed one to Mr Durno Illinois. We had in our mess a very fine large Turkey we Recd of Edward J. Abbott, which we boiled & made excelent soup on the evening of the 26th, so we had the usual American dish for the Holidays. Stoped in Camp all day and the Regts in the Corps who could, made out Muster Rolls.
