68 In the field TennesseeDec 31st.1864 Saturday Marched 15 miles to day over very bad Roads the mud & frost was strugling for supremacy all day. the Rain fell nearly all last night and towards morning it turned to snowing to the depth of two inches which lay on the ground all day. went into Camp at dark built large fires, made down our beds on the Snow. eat the last of our 3/5 Rations for supper
