69 and then resigned ourselves to the arms of Morpheus to Dream of Marches, of Friends, perhaps who are watching the exit of the old year. and the advent of the new. The old year has closed with many a brilliant Victory & I sincerely hope that ere the Close of 1865 peace will have settled with healing on it wings over the leanth & bredth of our scurged & [purified?] Country, and may God in His mercy guid the people in the pathes of Justice, Mercy, Truth. & Righteousness
