73 footed on the march mounted themselves on Horses & mules found on our Rout of march But this morning every such animal was taken by order of Gen A.J. Smith and the Halt, the lame, & the blind, had to find their way to Clifton in the best way posible But Co. C outflanked the Gen & all His Subalterns by bringing in to Camp two Horses. Abbott & Williams made a detour around the entire Corps [side?] [met?] along the flank and comming in at sunset well Mounted
