100 long and severe fever. a place where a Brother lies burried having been Killed in upholding our flag & Country's Honor in face of a Superior force, a place where My Cousin Mr Durno was mortaly wounded, a place where the tenacious bravery of men in troops was tried and found Equal to the emergency a place where our Regt was Captured in holding its Position on the front line untill encircled in a line of fire from every direction & [in?] Retreat Cut off. But our army was saved
