106 night ,, on a gun Boat, the rain has fallen more or less all day,and at night it changed to bitter cold. we are cramped for room to sit, to stand to eat, to sleep, and the Boatswains whistle piping men to quarters, to swing Hamocks, to Change guard, to wash, to eat, and in fact everything in the [nature?] of orders is first whistled, and then brayed as near the intonation of a Jackass as is possible for the Human voice to get it, that with all those [ongoings?] I am far less at Home on a Gun Boat than on terra firma
