116 Eastport Miss Jan 11 1865 Wednesday Our Mess Commenced work on our House Hutchins & Jordan went out to Cut Logs. I went to work on the foundation with shovel. & William Hamlin done the Cooking & got us a very good Dinner of baked beans & pork coffee &c, & c, the work goes on but the greatest draw back is the want of Teams & tools, but where there is a will there is a way. & we are on it.
