143 Steamer Magenta Feby 6" 1865 We broke Camp and marched down on board the large Boat Magenta. Our entire Brigade is on the same Boat, After long Marching in the mud we finaly got on board at dusk. I with J.Morgan 1st Lt Co. K. were assigned a state Room by Virtue of our Papers. Lt Reed & 3 others Recd. Commissions as Capts in the 12" Iowa
