171 Latitudes are quite abundant & somewhat troublesome. The ocean going vesels pass up and down the river to the City in full view of our Camp, the River seems to be & is some higher than the Country which look [well?] indeed. dykes, or Levees, keep the old Dady of water to His bed, so that the Teresterial Inhabitants Can keep their beds although I judge the people here some times get in each other beds.
