176 was the old U.S. Barracks this afternoon where we had an opportunity of paving our tents with brick which is piled up by Thousands where we are camped. Some one of the Regt broke into one of Gen Smiths Hd Qr Waggons and destroyed private papers & purloined some articles. J Whitson of Co. "D" is arrested as one of the Parties or Known to the real Thief or Thieves. Very wet weather
