177 New Orleans La Feby 26" 1865 Sunday I wrote a letter to Mrs Henderson to day, and Recd one from G.L. Durno. who is leaving Iowa again for Home in Consequence of Ed Durno having Enlisted again. I have been Detailed as officer of the Guard to day, the Guard is for Brigade & Consists of 2 Sergt 7 Corporals & 100 men, for Chain Guard arround Brigade & safety of Private property.
