202 Dauphin Island March 9th 1865 Thursday mail Came in to day. none for me however. I do not get letters very frequently now from Home at least. I made out Muster Roll for the Adjt Gen of Iowa this afternoon. I have finished reading the Betrothed a novel by Walter Scot. Reading the confessions of a Waiting maid - a Book of [equisseal?] [Character?] but perhaps to much truth. heavy rain tonight
