203 Dauphin Island March 10th 1865 Friday A very Cold North west wind set in after the rain last night, and this was the Coldest day I have yet seen in the Department of the Gulf. There is very little to amuse or interest one on this Island. there is no duty to perform even Drill twice per day for newly assigned men which is superintended by Sergt Hutchins with success as they are learning finely in Co. "C".
