217 I rec'd a letter from Jane just before embarking, to day. they have Rec'd news from Vicksburg giving information of my [Master?] at Vicksburg. they express [small?] satisfaction at that event, The children are getting along finely driving team trading and doing Considerable business for their Mother. Alick is enjoying Himself finely & living in fine stile with considerable music in the air arround the old Homestead.
