233 while Retiring from the engagement. Company C fell a large Tree this morning to prevent the Rebel shell from splintering it to Injury of the men,But the tree in falling smashed our Tent and the Two Head quarter Tents of 12" Iowa, no one was Hurt but some damage done to Tents, Medicine Box, Bass Drum, flag pole &c. I wrote a letter to Mrs Henderson this morning
